Your propeller is key to the mechanical movement of your boat. With a damaged, wrong or dirty/fouled propeller your boat will not perform as efficiently as it could. Purbeck Marine, poole, dorset has all the tools and knowledge to remove most types of propellers. We have a variety of different pullers and specialist large sockets/spanners for the largest shaft nuts. Our experience in removal, resetting, assembly and installation of feathering and folding propellers means you do not need to look anywhere else for this kind of marine engineering service for your boat.
We supply bronze, stainless steel and aluminium propellers and can offer high quality propellers at very competitive prices. Most aluminium and stainless steel propellers can be ordered on a next day service to our workshop in poole, dorset if ordered before 2pm.
We also have a close working relationship with local propeller refurbishment firms who can carry out repairs, pitch adjustments and clean-up of used or new propellers.
If requested, we can also apply different antifouling systems to propellers and shafts to slow down the build-up of growth and barnacles.
Purbeck Marine are specialists at replacing cutlass bearings on any type of vessel, whether it’s a launch, sail boat, motor boat, super yacht, jet drive, commercial work boat or even commercial passenger ferries. Our marine engineers replace many cutlass bearings every year of all sizes ranging from 19mm shafts up to 75mm shafts and could easily go bigger if required… we have not had one that we have not been able to replace yet!
We have a large inventory of special tools and different techniques to enable us to remove many different types of bearing from many different types of cutlass bearing installations.

Purbeck Marine Ltd install, replace, service and repair many different types of propeller shaft stern glands every year. We have an extensive knowledge of most types of gland, how to maintain them and where to use each type in particular applications.

We at Purbeck Marine Ltd install, replace, repair and supply many different size and length of propeller shafts every year. We generally work on diameters between 19mm and 75mm, imperial and metric but can easily work on smaller or larger if required. We have a facility available to test shafts for bending and can also have propeller shafts straightened if required.
We also supply many shafts at very competitive prices and with very short lead times if needed.
